In this leadership role, you will drive environmental compliance strategy, strengthen management systems, and champion sustainability initiatives that support both regulatory excellence and business performance.<br><br>You will serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership, operations, and engineering teams—building strong partnerships internally and externally while fostering a proactive, solutions-focused culture.<h2></h2><h2><span class="emphasis-3">Position</span></h2>Sr. EHS Specialist<h2></h2><h2><span class="emphasis-3">Location</span></h2>USA, LaFayette, GA<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">How You'll Create Possibilities</span></h2><p><b>Environmental Compliance & Risk Management</b></p><ul><li><p>Lead environmental compliance operations aligned with federal, state, and local regulations.</p></li><li><p>Develop and implement practical, sustainable standards and processes integrated into daily manufacturing operations.</p></li><li><p>Oversee air emissions, wastewater and stormwater management, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, recycling programs, and chemical management.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and submit environmental permits, modifications, and required regulatory reports.</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate environmental records within the company’s EHS management system.</p></li><li><p>Conduct inspections (SPCC, SWPPP, hazardous waste storage) and collect regulated stormwater, wastewater, and waste samples.</p></li><li><p>Provide environmental oversight for demolition, facility modifications, and new product introductions.</p></li><li><p>Lead sustainability initiatives focused on landfill reduction, energy performance, and long-term environmental impact.</p></li><li><p>Perform internal environmental audits and proactively identify improvement opportunities.</p></li><li><p>Utilize data analytics to evaluate environmental performance, identify trends, and mitigate risks.</p></li><li><p>Lead and support environmental incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and preventive measures are implemented.<br /> </p></li></ul><p><b>Leadership & Team Development</b></p><ul><li><p>Directly manage and develop three team members supporting wastewater treatment and facility waste operations.</p></li><li><p>Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to strengthen compliance performance.</p></li><li><p>Partner with regulatory agencies, plant leadership, and cross-functional teams to maintain strong stakeholder relationships.</p></li><li><p>Participate in regulatory meetings and environmental steering committees as needed.<br /> </p></li></ul><p><b>Management Systems & Continuous Improvement</b></p><ul><li><p>Maintain expertise in applicable environmental laws and regulatory requirements.</p></li><li><p>Implement and enhance environmental management systems to ensure sustainable compliance.</p></li><li><p>Support change management initiatives and drive measurable performance improvements.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to enterprise-wide best practice sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.</p></li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">What You'll Bring to Our Team</span></h2><p><b>What You Bring:</b></p><p><b>Required Experience & Expertise</b></p><ul><li><p>Strong knowledge of environmental regulations within a manufacturing environment.</p></li><li><p>Deep expertise in air compliance, including NESHAP/MACT, NSPS, NSR/PSD, construction permitting, and reporting requirements.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of stormwater, wastewater, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, SPCC, EPCRA (Tier II/TRI), TSCA, ODS, and HMT requirements.</p></li><li><p>Experience in contractor management, budgeting, and change management processes.</p></li><li><p>Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement sustainable solutions.</p></li><li><p>Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance deadlines.</p></li><li><p>Experience responding to environmental or safety emergencies.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Minimum Qualifications:</u></b></p><ul><li><p>BS or BA Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Safety & Health, or related discipline/experience.</p></li><li><p>5+ years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing setting</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></b></p><ul><li><p>3-5 years of EHS experience leading and implementing environmental compliance, and risk management programs with proven sustainable results. </p></li><li><p>CHMM or related certification.</p></li><li><p>Experience with industrial wastewater treatment plants and or wastewater operator certification.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of NPDES permitting.
