In this leadership role, you will drive environmental compliance strategy, strengthen management systems, and champion sustainability initiatives that support both regulatory excellence and business performance. You will serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership, operations, and engineering teams—building strong partnerships internally and externally while fostering a proactive, solutions-focused culture.<h2></h2><h2>Position</h2>Sr. EHS Specialist<h2></h2><h2>Location</h2>USA, LaFayette, GA<h2>How You'll Create Possibilities</h2>Environmental Compliance & Risk Management<ul><li>Lead environmental compliance operations aligned with federal, state, and local regulations.</li><li>Develop and implement practical, sustainable standards and processes integrated into daily manufacturing operations.</li><li>Oversee air emissions, wastewater and stormwater management, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, recycling programs, and chemical management.</li><li>Prepare and submit environmental permits, modifications, and required regulatory reports.</li><li>Maintain accurate environmental records within the company’s EHS management system.</li><li>Conduct inspections (SPCC, SWPPP, hazardous waste storage) and collect regulated stormwater, wastewater, and waste samples.</li><li>Provide environmental oversight for demolition, facility modifications, and new product introductions.</li><li>Lead sustainability initiatives focused on landfill reduction, energy performance, and long-term environmental impact.</li><li>Perform internal environmental audits and proactively identify improvement opportunities.</li><li>Utilize data analytics to evaluate environmental performance, identify trends, and mitigate risks.</li><li>Lead and support environmental incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and preventive measures are implemented. </li></ul>Leadership & Team Development<ul><li>Directly manage and develop three team members supporting wastewater treatment and facility waste operations.</li><li>Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to strengthen compliance performance.</li><li>Partner with regulatory agencies, plant leadership, and cross-functional teams to maintain strong stakeholder relationships.</li><li>Participate in regulatory meetings and environmental steering committees as needed. </li></ul>Management Systems & Continuous Improvement<ul><li>Maintain expertise in applicable environmental laws and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Implement and enhance environmental management systems to ensure sustainable compliance.</li><li>Support change management initiatives and drive measurable performance improvements.</li><li>Contribute to enterprise-wide best practice sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.</li></ul><h2>What You'll Bring to Our Team</h2>What You Bring:Required Experience & Expertise<ul><li>Strong knowledge of environmental regulations within a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Deep expertise in air compliance, including NESHAP/MACT, NSPS, NSR/PSD, construction permitting, and reporting requirements.</li><li>Working knowledge of stormwater, wastewater, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, SPCC, EPCRA (Tier II/TRI), TSCA, ODS, and HMT requirements.</li><li>Experience in contractor management, budgeting, and change management processes.</li><li>Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement sustainable solutions.</li><li>Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance deadlines.</li><li>Experience responding to environmental or safety emergencies.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>BS or BA Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Safety & Health, or related discipline/experience.</li><li>5+ years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing setting</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>3-5 years of EHS experience leading and implementing environmental compliance, and risk management programs with proven sustainable results. </li><li>CHMM or related certification.</li><li>Experience with industrial wastewater treatment plants and or wastewater operator certification.</li><li>Knowledge of NPDES permitting.
