Job Requirements
I. Position Summary Under minimal supervision, gathers and analyzes user needs to develop, enhance, and support clinical or business applications within a healthcare environment. Leads requirements documentation, specifications, analysis, and solution design, while building, configuring, and modifying applications using existing tools.
II. Key Responsibilities - Lead complex analysis, design, development, testing, and support for assigned applications.
- Oversee day-to-day issue tracking and resolution, ensuring timely follow-up and validation of testing outcomes.
- Conduct application and impact analysis for new systems, enhancements, or process changes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for complex application issues, providing advanced support to end users and technical guidance to junior staff.
- Lead the development of test scripts and conversion plans; participate in system testing as needed.
- Provide recommendations and alternative solutions for application development and support initiatives.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including application specs, analytical reports, training materials, and status updates; support training and mentorship of team members.
- Lead or participate in complex projects, including estimating timelines, resources, and costs, and providing ongoing status reporting.
- Oversee application design and changes in alignment with change management processes and user requirements.
- Ensure complete and accurate application documentation for operational use; assist in developing departmental policies and procedures related to clinical applications.
Work Experience
III. Education and Experience - Bachelors degree in a health, science, or business-related field, or equivalent professional experience required; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in information systems or applications, including at least 1 year in programming, application analysis, or business analysis.
- Prior experience leading projects and/or teams preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Certifications in Service Management, Project Management, or Business Analysis are a plus.
IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to teach and guide others in user engagement, data gathering, and information systems practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop complex application specifications, with knowledge of system design, integrations, and technical environments.
- Ability to lead and deliver training on application functionality, design standards, and process improvements, including train-the-trainer support.
- Provides recommendations on application integration and system relationships across the organization.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor project teams, including coordinating activities, delegating tasks, and reviewing work for quality and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail, confidence, and creativity.
- Ensures adherence to application security, controls, and regulatory requirements; provides recommendations for improvement as needed.
