Job Requirements

Position Summary

The Application System Analyst II Epic Anesthesia is a technical and operational specialist supporting Epic OpTime and Anesthesia applications within perioperative workflows. This role partners with clinical informatics, operational, and IT teams to support system build, optimization, and maintenance while ensuring high-quality, compliant healthcare technology solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Epic Anesthesia Support & Implementation
  • Collaborate with Clinical Informatics to design, build, test, and support go-live activities for Epic OpTime and Anesthesia workflows, ensuring alignment with clinical and operational needs.
  • Workflow Analysis & Optimization
  • Analyze current perioperative workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and support the design of optimized future-state processes.
  • Requirements Gathering
  • Assist in facilitating sessions with end users and SMEs to gather and document business requirements, translating them into system specifications.
  • System Configuration & Build
  • Perform core Epic build activities, including user setup, documentation tools, decision support, anesthesia device integration, and reporting, in accordance with best practices.
  • Testing & Validation
  • Develop and execute test plans and scripts, validate system functionality, and support issue resolution prior to deployment.
  • Training & Go-Live Support
  • Provide hands-on support to perioperative end users during implementations and go-live events.
  • Project Coordination
  • Support project efforts by coordinating tasks, tracking milestones, and reporting progress; may serve as a workgroup lead or SME under supervision.
  • Issue Resolution & Maintenance
  • Monitor system performance post-implementation, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve system functionality and user experience.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and workflows; contribute to knowledge-sharing platforms (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure all system changes align with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and Epic standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in information systems, including at least 1 year in programming, application analysis, or business analysis (or equivalent experience such as clinical SME/super user involvement in system implementations).
  • Experience with clinical workflow analysis, requirements gathering, and system configuration preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with clinical informatics and technical teams.

  • Ability to support and guide project teams, including coordinating tasks and ensuring quality deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting information to stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensures adherence to application security, controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve system functionality and enhance the end-user experience.

Pay Range: $33.36 - $46.70
