Epic Resolute/PB Application System Analyst II
Job Requirements
The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) is an academic, private health system committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care while advancing innovation at the bedside. In partnership with the University of Maryland School of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Nursing, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore, UMMS plays a vital role in educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. UMMS is an integrated network delivering approximately 25% of hospital care across Maryland, spanning urban, suburban, and rural communities. The system includes 11 hospitalsanchored by the University of Maryland Medical Centeras well as a large network of urgent care centers and outpatient locations across 13 counties. The Epic Resolute PB Application System Analyst II is responsible for the design, build, optimization, and support of Epic Professional Billing (PB) applications. This role partners closely with revenue cycle, clinical, and IT stakeholders to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-performing billing workflows.
Work Experience
System Design & Build- Configure and maintain Epic Resolute PB components, including charge capture, claims, payment posting, and follow-up workflows
- Design efficient billing workflows in collaboration with operational stakeholders
- Maintain build documentation, configuration standards, and change control processes
Implementation & Optimization- Support Epic implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
- Conduct gap analyses to identify improvement and automation opportunities
- Lead testing cycles (unit, integrated, and user acceptance testing)
Support & Maintenance- Provide Tier 2/3 support and troubleshoot application issues
- Monitor system performance and coordinate resolution with Epic teams
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA)
Collaboration & Communication- Serve as a liaison between revenue cycle operations, IT, and Epic representatives
- Train and support end users on system functionality and best practices
- Document workflows, system changes, and standard operating procedures
Reporting & Analytics- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards (Clarity, Workbench, SlicerDicer)
- Analyze billing trends and identify root causes of denials or delays
Qualifications- Bachelors degree in health, science, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in applications, IT, or healthcare systems
- At least 1 year of experience in programming, application analysis, or business analysis
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and user support skills
- Ability to develop technical specifications and understand system integrations
